I like to think of myself as being a global citizen. My mother was born and raised in Panama, and she always taught me that the world is bigger than the United States of America. With that in mind, she took me and my brother all over the United States, and she paid for me to visit multiple countries throughout my childhood.
I was born and raised in Jackson, MI. I am the embodiment of the African proverb, "It takes a village to raise a child." My entire community contributed to my upbringing. I maintained a 4.0 GPA from seventh grade to my senior year in high school. I went from not being able to read in the first grade to being valedictorian of my graduating class.
I am living proof of the importance of making sure children receive the proper foundation in the world of academics. Thankfully, I did not "slip through the cracks" and my elementary school was able to give me the resources I needed in order to learn how to read.
As a result of maintaining a 4.0 GPA, I was able to get academic scholarships to pay for my undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan. I graduated from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business with a Bachelors of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and Finance.
I have been interested in mental health since I took my first psychology class in high school. I am currently in the process of obtaining my Masters of Social Work from the University of Kentucky. I want to help others reach their full potential. Think of me as a tour guide to your dreams.
